Pigment Red 104 is an inorganic lead chromate molybdate pigment known for its bright, opaque red-orange shade and excellent hiding power. It has traditionally been used in coatings, plastics, and industrial paints requiring strong color strength and durability. PR 104 offers good heat stability and weather resistance, but due to its lead content, its use is restricted in many regions for health and environmental reasons. Safer alternatives are increasingly replacing it, though it remains notable in pigment history.
