Introduction

Pigment Yellow 110 (CAS 5590-18-1) is an industrial-grade high-performance organic pigment with a reddish yellow color and very excellent heat and weather resistance. The reliability is also recognized as the best among red and yellow pigments. It has excellent light fastness, weather fastness, heat resistance and migration resistance, which makes it has a wide range of uses.

Application

Pigment Yellow 110 is a widely used pigment due to its excellent weathering, thermal stability and chemical resistance, and is particularly suitable for use in various plastics, inks and coatings.
● The highly durable nature of py110 makes it particularly suitable for coatings that require long-term durability, such as automotive paints, metal decorative paints, latex paints, etc.
● The thermal stability of this pigment also makes it perform well in plastics processed at high temperatures, such as polyolefins and polyamides.

Application in High-Temperature Processes: Suitable for thermoplastics like polyamide (PA), polycarbonate (PC), and engineering plastics, as well as powder coatings that cure at 200–220°C.
Example: In automotive parts (e.g., under-the-hood components), PY110 resists discoloration from engine heat, whereas lower-heat pigments like PY81 would fade or darken.

4. Chemical and Solvent Resistance

Resistance to Acids, Alkalis, and Oils: Maintains color stability in contact with common chemicals, making it suitable for industrial coatings (e.g., machinery, marine equipment) and packaging materials exposed to solvents or cleaning agents.
Non-Migrating Properties: Unlike some lower-performance pigments, PY110 does not bleed or migrate into adjacent materials, making it safe for food packaging inks (meets FDA 21 CFR 176.170/176.180 for indirect food contact).
Comparison: PY12 and PY13, which are cheaper diarylide pigments, show poor solvent resistance and migration in plasticized PVC, limiting their use in food packaging.
